Photography and Filming

 

By purchasing a ticket and attending the New England Garden Festival (NEGF), you acknowledge and agree that photography and videography will be conducted throughout the event.

Images and recordings may be used by NEGF for promotional, marketing, and archival purposes, including but not limited to use on websites, social media, digital communications, and printed materials.

By entering the festival, you consent to being photographed or filmed and to the use of your image in such materials without compensation.

If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify festival staff or the photographer on arrival. While we will make reasonable efforts to respect your request, we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in crowd images.

Parents and guardians are responsible for advising staff if they do not wish for children in their care to be photographed.

NEGF will not use images in a manner that is misleading, defamatory, or likely to cause harm.

respectful environment for all children and young people.


Purpose


This policy outlines how photography and videography involving children is managed at
NEGF to ensure safety, dignity, and respect.


Guiding Principles

• The safety and wellbeing of children is paramount
• Children have the right to privacy and dignity
• Images of children must be respectful and appropriate


Photography Practices


• Photographers must seek permission from a parent or guardian before taking
close-up or identifiable images of children
• Images of children will be general in nature (e.g. group activities) wherever
possible
• Children will not be identified by full name in any published material
Prohibited Content


NEGF will not capture or use images that:


• Show children in vulnerable, distressing, or compromising situations
• Could be interpreted as exploitative or inappropriate
• Focus unnecessarily on individual children without consent
Parental Choice
• Parents/guardians may opt out of photography by notifying festival staff
• NEGF will take reasonable steps to respect these requests
• Storage and Use
• Images will be stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel
• Images will only be used for legitimate festival-related purposes
• Photographer Conduct
• All photographers must be briefed on this policy
• Must carry identification while working at the event
• Must comply with any direction from festival organisers regarding photography

a safe, inclusive, and family-friendly event environment.
